Emergency Breaker Panels, Whole House Backup and Off-Grid

Energy Storage

The world of less reliable utility service is here to stay whether it be from high winds or other reasons for power failures more and more people are becoming less dependent on the utility company for their power. Add to that utility company’s higher cost of electricity during peak demand times and today’s battery backup system can not only protect you during a power outage but can reduce your utility cost, making it a good investment. Many of our customers live completely off the grid, some even when there is one.

Lithium-Ion Batteries

Ideal if the property requires 3,000 to 8,000 power cycles during extended off-grid operations.

Lead Carbon Batteries

Offer 2,000 to 3,000 life cycle at a significantly lower price than Lithium-Ion batteries.

Maintenance Free Batteries

Reduce overall cost by as much as 50%, offer 1,200 to 1,800 life cycles and are more than adequate for the occasional power outages. 1,200 life cycles equate to 80 cycles per year for 15 years.

Integrated Battery Systems vs. Stand-Alone Battery Backup Inverters

Integrated Battery Systems are relatively new to the industry, like the Tesla Powerwall and the NeoVolta NV24. They include batteries, built-in DC battery to AC power inverters and DC battery chargers and are an ever-evolving product line in the industry. They generally cost less and are easier to install but have fewer features. Stand Alone Battery Backup Inverters like the Outback Radians, Generac PWRcell and Solar Edge’s Store Edge provide more options, greater control and flexibility. PS&W is experienced in installing a large variety of products both integrated and stand-alone systems.
